Laser micro-hole samples: requirements and acceptance

Define hole size, pattern, count and the method for checking through-holes before sample evaluation.

Describe the sample requirements

Provide material, thickness, part outline, hole diameter, hole pattern, hole count and required quantity. Mark any requirements still under discussion so both parties can identify the information needed next.

Define each acceptance item

  • Diameter and position: which locations are checked and by what measurement method.
  • Through-holes: how penetration is confirmed, the inspection scope and the acceptance criteria.
  • Appearance and shape: required checks on surfaces, hole entrances and part outline.
  • Delivery records: required photographs, measurement records and sample identification.

Define the percentage being reported

If the metric is the proportion of holes confirmed to transmit light, describe it as a through-hole rate and record the inspection method, quantity checked and calculation basis.

Published sample results should refer to that sample. New projects require review of their own drawings, sample validation and acceptance requirements.

Agree how confidential information will be shared

Explain any confidentiality and publication restrictions first. Confirm NDA arrangements and a file-transfer method with your contact before sharing restricted drawings or photographs. Public examples can use samples separately cleared for display; customer identity, drawings and acceptance records remain subject to the agreement.
